Finally we can say Apple will introduce the iPhone to a lot more countries, they are stating 77 ? Anyhow, is the 3G really worth the buy or not? I hope my post will help out some people, if not, then…
I remember a lot of people complaining about the regular Iphone, that it was lacking 3G and GPS. Now that it does, is it really that much better? As a critic I still don’t think Apple did a great job.
FE; Where’s the better camera? Where’s the official video recording software? Where’s the 3G videoconferencing camera? Where’s the iChat application? Removable battery? Tactile feedback?
Apple keeps on showing that they are quite arrogant towards their costumers. They should have listened better and showed that they really cared about what the people want, not only about what ends up in their pockets at the end of the day, when an iPhone 3G has been sold.
Okthey might have made the price more affordable, but what about the $10 added to the monthly required rate plan? As some blogs calculated, the iPhone is almost as expensive and even more expensive than the regular iPhone. (here)
For example, in some countries in Europe it isn’t allowed to sell phones that are bundled with a rate plan. This is causing a price of €499 and €569 for the iPhone3G. I generally call this exploiting people who live in those countries. I think if you make up a price, you should just stick to it in other countries too, like Nokia and some other manufacturers do.

The iPhone 3G conclusion ;
Even though I’m a fan of the iPhone 3G despite of it’s imperfections, I still think that Apple did a bad job. They should have integrated more features, because people are looking for a whole-in-1 device, so they don’t have to carry much with them all the time.
If Apple integrated a 5MP camera with a flash, and a secondary videoconferencing call, the iPhone would have had a lot more success. Because of that, I still don’t see many Europeans buying the iPhone 3G because the lack of a really good camera, (which we all love here).
Now why didn’t they even add tactile feedback, streaming/synchronizing via wi-fi and iChat? I don’t think it’s that hard, to quickly write a program like this? It could’ve been done within a day, and it doesn’t need extra hardware to achieve it.
The monthly rate plan increase, is probably a very smart move, but it’s stating “the more affordable iPhone-conference-line” as a lie.
Anyway iPhone 3G, I’ll be your owner on the 11th of July!
