You guys might already have suspected that I’m clearly always routing for Serena Williams. As a huge fan I’m clearly devoted to Serena Williams and, yes, I do combine reality with being a huge fan, as any other fan should be able to do so. So why am I routing so much for her? Well she was the best player out of the last generation, sorry Justine Henin, but you weren’t. With a Wimbledon title under your belt, you would have been.
Serena Williams is one of those players that has won almost everything she entered, the only thing that still misses her already stunning palmares, is the Olympics. Which, no worries, she’ll win this year. If not, she’ll have another chance in London 2012. Which she and her sister will participate in !
What are the other reasons, for me, to rout her into the final?
Well we all know the outstanding performances that Serena brought us on grass. It’s the surface where all her strokes and serves come into a good end, and where she really feels at home, like at the Key Biscayne (Miami – SE Open).
If we look at Serena’s grass record, it is currently 39-7, which is the 6th best of all time. With a win this year, she would have the 3rd best all time grass record. Given those facts, Serena Williams is by far the most in form player this year and has had the most solid performances at Wimbledon of all the top 8 seeds at Wimbledon 2008. (of course, Venus has been more solid at Wimbledon).

If she faces Venus Williams in the final of Wimbledon, she has the 2-1 (67%) edge in win-loss against her Sister and a 2-0 (100%) edge in winning the final against her sister at Wimbledon.
