What a cool match this was, Serena raced to 6-3 to take the first set, then she had many possibilities to take the 2nd set and the match, yet she failed to do so and lost that set by 6-7 (4). In the third set the suspense kept on going, Serena had multiple possibilities yet only managed at 6-5 to take the set and the match by 7-5.
Certainly a good opener for Serena, although she defenitely needs to step up her level, but we know she will, cause she always does. I’m delighted to see Serena playing more than in the past, it’s a good sign. Go Champ !
RESULT : R1 (1) Serena Williams d. Samantha Stosur 6-3 6-7(4) 7-5

Hahaha, still laughing with this
“That being said, there’s no denying that Jankovic is about to become the most unconventional – and dare I say unimpressive – No. 1 in the history of the WTA, which began the rankings system in 1975.

You can place it how you want it, but no matter what, Roger Federer a downfall. Rafael Nadal made him more edgy than ever, players are feeling it, exploiting his weakness, not being the best anymore.
All Rafa has to do is win the Cincinnati masters, even if he doesn’t, he’ll have 10 more tournaments to do it at, since Roger has a lot to defend at the US Open and Masters. Tournaments, where he has a big margin.
I’m not a hater, but I hated his domination, while other players were a lot better than him, and not being able to get the wins, they should have gotten.
So Rafael, break the chain, and get to the spot, you deserve to be at.

Serena Williams, promised us all to start peaking in the after she won her match last friday. She held that promise by peaking yesterday and sizzling today.
Serena Williams, took an early break, but Agniezska Radwanska broke back. Serena Williams saw no danger and continued with booming serves and playing aggressive and smart at the same time. She took the opening set by 6-4 in 32 minutes.
Serena Williams didn’t cut slack to Agniezska Radwanska, by switching a few gears higher, to completely blow Agniezska Radwanska away on all assets.
If it wasn’t by rocket serves, it was by strokes on both wings, or crisp volleys.
Serena Williams easily won the second set by 6-0 in 21 minutes. Ending the match 6-4 6-0 in 51 minutes.
Serena Williams stats;
- 11 aces
- 76% 1st serves in, 84% points won on 1st serve

Venus Williams was challenged by Tamarine Tanasugarn, a Thai veteran, that really deserves a big applause for her Wimbledon run.
Venus Williams was comfortable most of the match, just when closing out both sets, Tamarine Tanasugarn refused to go out easy, by forcing Venus to play her very best on the crucial points.
Venus Williams won when Tamarine Tanasugarn wasn’t able to return a powerful stroke, by hitting it into the net, to end the set and match by 6-4 6-3 in 1h35.
Next Venus Williams will face Elena Dementieva.
Elena Dementieva will need to play well, playing like she did today will get her crushed within 1 hour. Venus to win in straight sets, once again.
